And on International Women’s Day 8 March 2021, over 100 countries come together to celebrate the power of women and how far they have come – especially in the cultural and political sphere. But why is International Women’s Day important? The significant day emerged from a movement in the early 1900s, where women came together in the streets of New York to stand up for their rights. Since 1910 multiple countries have adopted International Women’s Day to continue fighting for their rights
